about me

hey im skies, im a support desk engineer with a flare for technology. with many years in the tech industry i have gained a wide variety of skills such as: programming in python, powershell, java – active directory, iso27001, itil 4, exchange, office suite, hardware/software/network support etc. i have a passion to learn so much more, ideally i’d like to be an infrastructure engineer doing tasks like deploying servers, services, handling vm’s, firewalls etc. being able to host services, handle networks, and deploy new instances fluently would be my next ideal step, unfortunately I just lack the oppourtunity to do so.

PiHole

I was greatfully bought a Raspberry Pi by my parents and I decided I wanted to expand my skills with it. In this project I setup my Raspberry Pi5 with PiOS, installed Docker and setup a Docker container for PiHole which allowed my main PC to use the Raspberry Pi as a DNS server!

As a part of my apprenticeship, I was tasked with providing a fake company with a CRM solution. Now, I could’ve set a fake company up on a website and chose the easy way out however, I love tech and want to learn! I searched into open-source CRM solutions and found SuiteCRM. I was able to create a self-host instance on Windows Server 2022 and after doing this, made a video showing people how to do it 🙂 You can check the video out on my YouTube.
